Skin Allergies

If you feel that your skin’s irritation might be something more than just a common dryness then you may be suffering from skin allergies. One of the reasons as to why these specific types of allergies tend to go undiagnosed is because they are often confused for or mistaken for common dryness, but some times this dryness is actually an indicator of Atopic Dermatitis (Eczema). This Atopic dermatitis frequently occurs in young children but it has also shown up in young adults and has even been known to continue into people’s adult lives.

One of the most important things to note here is that you should never scratch your skin if you think you’re suffering from this condition. This will only spread your condition and make it worse. You can usually identify this condition by the red colored rash that follows. Plus, the affected area will also often flake or ooze and will often blister or produce noticeable bumps. In addition, there are also often excoriations, or areas of broken skin, from aggressive scratching.

Another common skin allergy that people suffer from is Urticaria (hives) and Angioedema (swelling). These conditions often vary significantly in their severity, so they are not always immediately identified correctly. This makes it especially important to focus on surrounding issues or elements that consistently accompany such breakouts or reactions. By being able to pair these reactions with certain activities or even materials that you were around you’ll hopefully be able to prevent them from occurring again the future, or at least mitigating the severity of the reaction.
